James Louis Fahrenholtz died at his home on Friday, August 20, 2021. He was 72. Known by all as Jimmy, he was born in New Orleans on August 1, 1949 to Josephine Mae Deidrich Fahrenholtz and Cyril Benedict Fahrenholtz. He leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Pamela Carol Butler. Jimmy and Pam were married on February 11, 1995.
In addition to Pam, Jimmy leaves behind two daughters, Victoria Celeste Fahrenholtz and Alexandra Marie Fahrenholtz, five grandchildren, Valarie Malasovich Reyes, Rachel LeBourgeois, Zachary Taylor LeBourgeois, Cody Connor and Ami Fahrenholtz, and two great grandchildren, McKenzie Thibodaux and Zayden LeBourgeois. He is also survived by one brother, Cyril B. Fahrenholtz, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by both parents and three brothers, John Parker Jr., Thomas E. Fahrenholtz and Charles G. Fahrenholtz.
He was a proud product of New Orleans public schools and graduated from Fortier High School in 1967. He attended Tulane University on a basketball scholarship but did not complete a bachelor’s degree until 1992 from Ottawa University. This degree was earned concurrently with his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Jimmy represented District 3 on Orleans Parish School Board 2000-2008 and was active and well known in political, legal and nonprofit circles. His most recent work was as a background actor for local television and film projects.
His wish was to be cremated. In lieu of a service, Pam will plan a celebration of his happy life once pandemic restrictions are lifted.
