Ingrid Tompkins

Ingrid Tompkins, age 87, has passed from this world of the living to the kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Luling Living Center. She was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States in the early 1950’s. Doing the best she could do on a daily basis, she worked 3 jobs: waitress, bartender, and ironed clothes for professional people (at least a dozen would come every week). Her hard work provided her family shelter, food, and eating out at special times. Over time she saved enough money to buy her first home. She was consistently present in her son and her two granddaughters’ lives.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with a service starting at 1:00 pm with burial to follow.
