In Loving Memory

At 9:55 AM, on Friday, September 10, 2021, HAZEL MARIE MARTIN SIMON, devoted wife and mother, died peacefully in her home in Metairie, LA surrounded by her loved ones.  She was 90 years old, dedicating her life to her family.  She was born March 29, 1931 in Paulina, LA, the daughter of the late Michel Martin, Sr. and Virginia Deslattes Martin. 
Hazel is survived by her husband of 65 years, Francis Gerard Simon, and 7 children: Paula Hotard (Robert), Lisa Dick (Lawrence, deceased), Cheryl Marino (John), Craig Simon, Darrin Simon (Joelle), Francis Simon, Jr. and Kevin Simon, and preceded in death by one daughter, the late Cindy Lowenberg (Lyle).  She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Christopher Dick (Ashlynn), Gregory Dick and John Luke Marino and preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kellie Marie Dick.
Hazel is survived by one brother, Michel Martin, Jr.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Martin and Harry Martin, Sr., and two sisters, Willhemina Martin Heltz and Salonge Martin Roussel Faucheux.
Hazel was the heart and soul of her family, and her husband and children were her most treasured possession. Her relationship with her husband was based on mutual support, and, to this day, a deep love for each other. She was kind, gentle and caring, and she lived her life serving those she loved. We know in our hearts she is highly favored by our Lord, a pearl of great price, and that He will say to her upon seeing Him... “Well done, My good and faithful servant.” She will be greatly missed, but never ever forgotten.
The funeral service and interment will be private.
