Harold E. Knesel Jr. (Dogie), 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Elizabeth J. Knesel (Jeanie), beloved daughters Laurie K. D’Arensbourg (Wayne), and Angela J. Knesel (Jared Harvey), five grandchildren Brandon Roberts (Mirenda), Taylor D’Arensbourg, Alice (Allie) Gannon, Blake D’Arensbourg, and Zoey Vicknair, one great-grandson Leo B. Roberts; three brothers, Barry Knesel (Helene), James Knesel, and Gregory Knesel (Carliss) and many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold E. Knesel, Sr. and Irene M. Housey ; Grandparents Martin P. and Rosalie Knesel, and aunt Florence Knesel.
Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He retired after 29 years as a welder from at Triplex, Inc. He loved cooking, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family, including his beloved cats. He had an amazing sense of humor, always cracking a joke and taking us on the “scenic route” when out on a drive. He was also the family handyman who could fix anything. He was a loyal Saints, LSU and Tulane fan.
Harold was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who is dearly loved and he will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3311 Jefferson Hwy. Jefferson, LA. 70121 on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will be at a later date at The Garden of Memories Cemetery. Garden of Memories is in charge of arrangements.
