With a heavy heart I say "good-bye" to my cousin Gwen. Her laughter & smiles brought sunshine into our lives. She will be missed. May God send blessings & comfort to Corky & family.

My fond memories of Gwen go back many years to East Jefferson High School. We were sorority sisters in DBS, and we sat at the same table in art class.
One day when the teacher wasn't looking, we ran out of the classroom. It was a large class, and we would not have been missed, except somebody snitched on us. The next day we were told to go to the principal's office to get admit slips before being admitted to class. Young and reckless, we stole two admit slips and signed the secretary's name on them, only to discover the following day that the secretary had been absent the previous day. We thought we would be suspended, but nothing was said. I believe our teacher was being kind.
Another day in art class, we were told to draw portraits of someone in class. Gwen sketched my face, and it wasn't very flattering, accentuating my prominent chin! (It was probably too realistic to suit me.)
Gwen and I were brought together again at our thirty fifth high school reunion. She had not changed a bit in either looks or personality; still cute and spunky and that's the way I'll remember her. I think of her, and a nostalgic smile crosses my face...the face with the prominent chin.

In this difficult, yet temporary time, may you all find comfort in knowing that your dear one is safe in the memory of Jehovah God, who will remember every detail about Gwen and bring her back to you again. (Acts 24:15)
Jw.org is a website with very comforting, Bible-based information. You can search any topic including how to cope with the loss of a loved one. I’ve personally benefited and I hope you can too!

We are devastated by news of Gwen’s passing. Gwen will always be remembered by her bright smile and contagious laugh but most of all her kindness. Please know that she and you all are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Tes Herman and Bernie O’Connor
