Gregory John Eiffert, beloved son and brother, passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2021, at the age of 57.
He was born November 15th, 1963, in New Orleans, attended St. Angela Merici grammar school, and graduated from Jesuit High School in 1981. He completed a Music and Recording Degree at Full Sail University in Kissimmee, FL, and relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area (and later to Dallas, TX) to work as a recording engineer and pursue original musical projects with his brothers.
In 2000 Greg returned home and earned a Bachelor's in Computer Science from the University of New Orleans. Upon college graduation, he worked as a software engineering consultant with his brother Rene and later as a software quality control engineer for Dixie Iron Works, Ltd., a manufacturing company based near Corpus Christi, TX.
Greg was a Mardi Gras fanatic and a member of the Krewe of Endymion for over twenty years. He was an avid square dancer and served as a longtime member and occasional officer for the Facin-8-ers teen square dance club in the 1980s.
Greg was a man of strong faith dedicated to community service. As a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Church, he was an active member of the main choir and a founding member of the Christian rock band that played regularly at Sunday evening Mass. He served often as a group leader in St Angela's bi-annual offering of the Alpha Course, a worldwide program designed to minister to people interested in seeking a deeper understanding of the Christian faith.
Greg was a loving and giving man who would do anything for anyone. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed coming home for the holidays and fishing with his dad and brothers in Hopedale, Pointe La Hache, Reggio, Empire, and other fishing holes in South Louisiana. Towards the end of his life, he enthusiastically and joyfully contributed to different multimedia projects with his brothers.
Greg is survived by his mother, Bonnie Chauvin Eiffert; his brothers, Rene´ Eiffert and Christopher Eiffert (Heather); 2 nieces, Annalise Eiffert and Caitlyn Eiffert; 2 step-nephews, Colin Cruthirds and Caden Cruthirds and numerous relatives.
Greg was predeceased by his father, Raphael J. Eiffert, Jr.
