Tribute

Grace Louise Huhner Zimmerman – beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully at home and into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the age of 92. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Eugene Zimmerman, Sr., to whom she was married to for over 72 years, her parents, George L. Huhner, Sr. and Louise W. Huhner, and her brothers, Louis, Peter, and William Huhner. Grace was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and Metairie, Louisiana.
Her name was so appropriate – Grace. She was loving, compassionate, had infinite patience, a heart full of kindness, and always had a smile on her face. More than anything, she loved God, her husband, her family, and friends. Her greatest source of joy was nurturing her family. Grace devoted her life to the care and love of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family is forever grateful for her unconditional and devoted love. She truly cared about everyone. She offered a listening ear and sound advice to all who asked. Her selflessness and resilience remain an example to all. Traveling with her family and friends and sharing stories with them was always special to Grace. She also loved playing Pokeno with her friends, going to the casino, and watching sports with her husband.
Grace is survived by six children: Linda Zimmerman, Susan Haydel (Keith), Gale Dupuy (James), Debra Zimmerman, Allen Zimmerman, Jr. (Vicki), and Marilyn Briseno (Gilbert), as well as her great nephew F. H. Louis Albertson, III, to whom she was a mother-figure.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Kristy Kuehne (Adam), Kristopher Haydel (Abby), Nicholas Briseno, Kristen Briseno Newman (Steven), Brad Dupuy (Courtney), and Derek, Ashley and Kylie Zimmerman.
She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Preston and Peyton Kuehne, Austin, Anna, Avery, and Amelia Haydel, Roman Newman, and Aiden Zimmerman.
Grace is also survived by one brother George L. Huhner, Jr.
