Gloria Lampo Madere

Gloria Lampo Madere passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years, Lester Joseph Madere; her grandson, Brandon Mitchell Madere; her mother, Alice Heinz Lampo; and her brother, Bernard John Lampo, Jr. Gloria will be dearly missed by her 3 loving children: Lester Joseph Madere, Jr. (Sharon), Rodney Michael Madere, and Cynthia Madere Waguespack (Toby); her beloved grandchildren: Brittany Madere Pineda, Jennifer Madere King, Kristopher Michael Madere, Lester Joseph Madere, III, Bradley Joseph Waguespack, Blake Michael Waguespack, and 6 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Edward Albert Lampo, Sr. (Linda) and Carolyn Lampo Lopez (Dennis); her sister-in-law, Cynthia Lampo; and 8 nieces and nephews.
Gloria was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for 71 years. She was an active volunteer for Delta Playground where she ran the cheerleading program for 10 years. She loved reading and swapping books with her 2 nieces, Bridget and Brandi, doing crafts and cross stitching, cooking and shopping. Gloria and Lester enjoyed their trips to the casinos on the Gulf Coast. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, especially her nightly visits with her “adopted daughter” Wendy Brassette Bell, her afternoon visits on the carport with Kristopher, her treasured Friday night dinners with Triniti, Kara, and Mikah, and her carpool rides with Bradley and Blake.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a service in the chapel at 12:00 noon followed by burial. Online condolences and a livestream of the service may be found at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
