Gloria Bourg Chaix entered into her eternal life on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 93 years young.  She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin R. Chaix, Sr. Daughter of the late Charles and Andrea Bourg Sr. and sister of the late Charles Bourg Jr. Mother of the late Melvin R. Chaix Jr. and Judith Bouffine. Grandmother to Christi Bouffine Gussoni (Kellie) and Misti Bouffine. Great-grandmother to Cody Bouffine and Shana Clark. Our mawmaw was the most loving and caring person we ever knew. She always gave to anyone never thinking twice. She was a blessing to so many people in her life. She was always taking care of the ones she loved. We will miss her so much, but we know she is truly happy and healthy in Heaven. A very special thank you to her brother-in-law, Donald Bonowitz, for always making sure she was ok. You showed her love and honor and she loved you like a son.  A special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Nursing home in Harahan and St. Catherine's Hospice for the compassion and care you showed our grandma and her family.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Matthew United Church of Christ at 1333 S. Carrollton Ave. in New Orleans starting promptly at 10:00 am.
