Glenis Alexa Canales

Glenis Alexa Canales, 56 of Gretna, Louisiana went to be with our Lord surrounded by her brothers and sisters.  She was born on January 4, 1966, in Honduras. Daughter or Armando Canales and María Belén Cediño Canales, both deceased.  Lovingly called “Nina”, was a sweet and loving person.  Nina had the most beautiful smile that brighten our souls.  She could spend hours tossing her pen with her fingers but don’t try to take it away from her for she would sure complaint.  Nina enjoyed her coffee and sweet bread every day at 3 pm.  She held a very special bond with her brother Sioni Canales.  Every time she saw him her face lit up.

Prececed in death by her parents.  Nina leaves behind brothers: Armando Calderiri (Juana)

Homer Canales (Eliza), Elvin Canales (Mirna), Sioni Canales; sisters, Lesly Castro (Raul) and Brenda Antunez (Sergio).

She will be sadly missed by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Special thanks to the staff at West Jefferson CCU for greatly taking care of Nina.  Your family will forever carry your memory in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70001.  To offer condolences or send flowers please visit www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
