George Noel Taquino

George Noel Taquino passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the age of 90. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marion Albert Taquino. He was the beloved son of the late, George J. Taquino, Jr. and late, Juanita L. Williams. Brother of the late, Joseph Taquino (late, Adelaide), Late, Noella Elstrott (late Lloyd), late Anthony Taquino, Vincent Taquino (late, Rose), Lois Giorlando, Juanita Elstrott (late, Jacob), Rudolf Taquino (Carol). He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of which he loved dearly.
His career included 26 years with Sears and 15 years with Universal Furniture. He was very active and well-remembered for his involvement in the Pegasus Carnival Crew. He is an Army Veteran who served his country in the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Service Star. He was also a member of the Army VFW6640 and the American Legion Post 397.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana, 70001, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
