Gary D. Erskin passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the age of 58.
He is survived by his loving soul-mate and wife of 39 years, Laura and his three children, Jonathan Erskin, Matthew Erskin (Julie) and Ashley Johnson (Johny). He was adored by his sisters, Rhonda Westmoreland (Larry), Donna Young, Kimberly McCarter, Donna Erskin-Aulbaugh (Steve) and his brother, Daniel Erskin. He was an amazing brother-in-law to Barbara Bourgeois (Ray), Walter Brown (Lisa), Jeralyn Fernandez (Jorge) and Dottie Creppel (Troy). He was a doting uncle to Norman, Heather, Nick, Leanne, Jessica, Jordan, Lainee, Ty, Tabitha, Shana, Zac, Krystal, Makayla, Carson and Andee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vivian Wells McCarter and Don O. Erskin; his sister-in-law, Johnell Smith and his brother-in-law, Gary Smith. Gary was a former resident of St. Rose, LA and a recent resident of Covington, LA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 am at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gary’s honor to the American Kidney Foundation, www.kidneyfund.org or to Life Church, 68446 Tammany Trace Drive in Mandeville, LA 70448 would be welcomed and appreciated by the family.
