Frank J. Landry

Frank “Papa” Landry passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in Metairie, LA at the age of 71 surrounded by his loving family.   He was born in New Orleans and lived in Jefferson with his late parents Harry H. and Mary Towle Landry.  Papa was a graduate of East Jefferson High School in 1968. He resided most of his life in Metairie with his Beloved wife of 47 years, Debra Schaeffer Landry; cherished father of Michelle and Eric Kieper, and Suzanne and Steve Louviere; proud grandfather to Eric Kieper Jr, Brianna Kieper, and Isabella Louviere; loving cousin to Phyllis Miller and Margie Willis, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Papa graduated from Nicholls State University in 1973, and played on the colleges first football team.  He was a proud Nicholls State Alumni and athletic supporter.  Following graduation he spent the majority of his career in the banking industry, and was an employee of Home Bank at the time of his death.  Papa enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling to the Blue Ridge Mountains, visiting historical sites across the country, watching his grandchildren play sports, attending the New Orleans Saints games, and tailgating on Poydras street. He loved classic cars, especially Mopars. He was the former President and member of Big Easy Mopar Association. Papa asks that all his friends and family have a toast to him with the people they love.  In leu of flowers the Landry family requests that a donation be made to  the Myeloma Foundation at www.myeloma.org or the Nichols State Athletic Association at www.geauxcolonels.com.  A celebration of Papa’s life will be held at a later date.
