Tribute

On Saturday, October 28, 2023, Frances Mumphrey Mollere passed away peacefully. She was 88 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel P. Mollere Sr., her loving, caring, wonderful, constant friend and companion of 61 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Salvador Mumphrey and Mary Pizzuto Mumphrey; siblings: Bea Ward, Lee Avocato and Rocky Mumphrey and her sweet grandbaby Paul Alex Vance. She is survived by her loving children: Marybeth Vance (George) of St. Rose, LA, Daniel P. Mollere Jr. (Rene) of Covington, LA and Scott Mollere of Jefferson, LA. Adoring grandmother of Danielle Mollere Najpaver (Chris), Austin Vance (Lexie), Mason Mollere and Molly Mollere and three adoring great grandchildren, Murphy and Eliza Najpaver and Linley Vance. Also survived by her sister, Jeannie Black and brother-in-law Wayne and wife, Patsy Mollere, also many cherished nieces and nephews. She was a native of Kenner and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana for over 67 years, as well as a longtime parishioner of St. Edwards the Confessor Church. She was a loving homemaker. She enjoyed 47 years with Daniel and the family at their Magnolia Island camp on the Tangipahoa River where precious memories were made and traditions were held. She enjoyed a good long life with her kids and grandkids. She loved being with family; it was everything to her. She loved attending all her grandchildren’s events. Fran and Dan were members of the Rummel Raider Athletic Association, where they had the pleasure of watching their grandson, Austin, win the 5-A State Championship and make the biggest interception! Fran was a wonderful cook and loved to bake. She was famous for her delicious carrot cake, among many other desserts. She baked for many St. Joseph’s Altars. She was a member of St. Christopher Altar Society for 10 years. Frances was also a member of The Better Homemakers Society in Metairie and did quilting, among many other crafts. She was very talented and creative. She could make just about anything. She was one of the best domestic engineers we knew; to us THE BEST! She loved to entertain and get together with family and friends with her delicious food she brought to the table. It brought her so much joy. Fran and Dan loved to Cajun Dance and they did it for decades while also teaching people. They performed for lots of festivals and conventions. She was a very giving woman that never met a stranger. She helped anyone in need. She will be missed, but we know she is dancing in heaven with the love of her life, Dan!
