Erich John Lochbrunner, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the age of 85.
Born in Rodney, Mississippi to the late Valentine and Margreta Stroch Lochbrunner, Erich is also preceded in death by his brother, Erwin Lochbrunner, Sr. (the late Gertrude) and his nephew, Erwin Lochbrunner, Jr.
Erich is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Carolyn Meyers Lochbrunner; sons, Erich Lochbrunner, Jr. (Christina) and Eugene David Lochbrunner, Sr.; grandchildren, Evan Lochbrunner, Ean Lochbrunner (Amber), Elizabeth Vincent (Aaron), and Eugene David Lochbrunner, Jr. (Regina); great-grandchildren, Elijah Lochbrunner, Emily Lochbrunner, Vaughn Vincent, Chealsi Lochbrunner, and Easton Lochbrunner; niece and nephew, Helen McGawley (Edward) and Eric Paul Lochbrunner (Melanie) and their son, Eric Paul Lochbrunner, Jr.
Erich lived for his family, and they were the light of his life. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece and nephews motivated him, and even kept his heart at church. Second only to his family, Erich loved nothing more than creating with his hands. He was a true artist, specializing in woodworking. He shared his art with his first loves, his family. Erich was a hard-working man, and devoted over 40 years of service as an operator and facility maintenance specialist to American Cyanamid, later Cytec Industries, along the Mississippi River. Even with a stubborn exterior, there was no way to hide his genuine, loving, and golden heart. He was a beloved husband, amazing father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Rita Food Pantry or Second Harvest Food Bank.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 7100 Jefferson Hwy, Harahan, Louisiana 70123. Visitation will be held prior to services from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
