Emile Zappula

Emile Zappula, Sr. quietly passed away on September 11, 2021 at the age of 84. He was born on August 29, 1937 in Hammond, LA. Emile was born to the late Gasper and Josephine Zappula. He was the beloved father of the late Emile Zappula, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 60 years, Barbara Zappula; his daughters, Marilyn Rooney and Joann Kerr-Mathews; as well as brother, Gasper (Zap) Zappula (Anita), nieces, Norma (Darren) and Heather (Ricky); grandchildren: Erin, Jolene, Kaitlyn, Bunker and Adam; and great-grandchildren: Vivienne, Charlotte, Evelyn, Evangeline, Anneliese, Edmond, Mia, Brandon, Tyler and Logan. He will also be missed by many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 with a service beginning at 1 p.m. There will be private burial services in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie, LA. Please note that due to the current State restrictions all visitors must wear masks while in the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Garden of Memories Funeral Home.
