Elvira Ruiz Castaneda passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017. She is the wife of the late Humberto Luis Castaneda, and the daughter of the late Ramon Ruiz and Francsica Calencia, and the sister of the late Raul Ruiz (Carmen), the late Reynaldo Ruiz. She is survived by her siblings, Celina Sena (late Fred), Hortencia Garvey (Bob), Virginia Trujillo (Ken), Manuela Ortiz and Fernando Ruiz (Mary Ann) and many nieces and nephews.  Her traditions will be continued on by her loving children, Barbara Becnel (Jason), Patricia Boudreaux (Chris), Edward Wright (Denise) and Richard Wright (Sherri) and her grandchildren, Jaclyn Giavotella, Derek Boudoin, Olivia Boudoin, Raquel Boudreaux, Christopher Boudreaux, Allie Barberito, Mia Wright, Maci Wright, Avia Wright and Sophia-Raquel Wright, and great-grandchildren, Mallory, Colby, Stella and Evie.  Elvira was a hardworking, loving mother that was devoted to her family. She was a devout catholic, always active and doing for others. Her riches were her children and nothing made her more proud than the families she helped raise. She was the most caring Nana, a big kid at heart and loved by many.  She was the Matriarch of the family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA and the visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
