Elaine Fahey Cortello passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, Malcolm “Chick” Cortello; her daughter, Karen Cortello; her parents, Jeremiah P. Fahey and Lelia Aucoin Fahey; and her siblings: Gerard Fahey, Robert Fahey, and Patricia Fahey Boudreaux. She is survived by her children, Craig Cortello (Kim) and Charlene Cortello Campen (James); her loving grandchildren: Kirstie Campen, Kaley Campen, and Michael Cortello; and her sister, Carol Fahey Luna. She is also survived by various nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws from the Cortello, Fahey, Aucoin, Frisard, Beck, Housey, Boudreaux, Guillory, Luna, Childress, Breaux, Pujol, Blanchard and extended families.
Elaine retired from the City of Kenner where she worked as a hostess and guide for the Kenner Wildlife Museum. She was a member of the St. Jude Society and was a parishioner of St. Benilde Catholic Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division St. in Metairie, LA on Monday, January 7, 2019. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm with Mass beginning at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Cancer Crusaders at www.CancerCrusadersLA.com or the Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos organization at www.seelos.org.
