Donald Fancher Hull Sr.

Our beloved husband, father, and Pawpaw, Donald F. Hull Sr. passed away at the age of 84 on May 12, 2018 at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was born to Alton B. Hull and Emily Rebecca Fancher Hull of Transylvania, LA on January 15, 1934. Don attended high school at Lake Providence High School in Lake Providence, Louisiana and graduated from the University of Southwest Louisiana with a degree in Civil Engineering. Don was employed by the US Army Corps of Engineers for 35 years, retiring as the Chief of Construction for the New Orleans District. After retirement, he continued to work in private industry as a drainage program manager for Brown, Cunningham, Gannuch in Jefferson Parish. He and his wife Kathleen lived in Jefferson Parish for 42 years, where they made many lifelong friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alton; and sister, Anne. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen; son, Donald and his wife, Heart; daughter, Carolyn and her husband, Darrin; and three grandchildren: Dominique, Natalie, and Neil, who he spoiled continuously. Visitation will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with interment to follow. A reception will be held at Westgate Country Club, located at 2326 Iowa Ave, Kenner. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Cancer Society in his name at www.cancer.org.
