Dianne Irene Hernandez passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jeanne Hughes, and her brother, Danny Hughes. She is survived by her Sons, Brian Hernandez (Lisa) and Barry Hernandez, her grandson, Brennan Hernandez, her siblings, Denise Cannizzaro (late John), Roberta Shaw (late William), Michael Hughes (Barbara) and Emily Pryor (Jim), and also survived by her niece, Katie, and her nephews, John, Jr., Patrick, Michael and her former spouse and friend, Jacob Hernandez. Dianne was born in Cleveland, OH on August 11, 1943 and graduated from Holy Name High School in Cleveland. She moved to New Orleans, LA at the age of 21 and became a longtime resident. Dianne worked for over 35 years for Ryder Truck Rentals, and was a devoted volunteer at East Jefferson General Hospital, and in her younger days; she enjoyed Irish Step Dancing and was a proud member of the West Side Irish Marching Club in Cleveland, OH. She was a parishioner of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA and the visitation will begin at 11:00 am until service time.
