Delight Escobedo Thompson

Delight Escobedo Thompson passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the age of 99 years and 3 months. She was the daughter of the late George R. Escobedo and Christine Schmidt Escobedo Menard. Delight is survived by her companion of 15 years, Jack L. Crawford; her son, Kenneth M. Thompson (Rita); her daughter, Dee Vern T. Elliot (Joseph, III); one grandchild, Jodee M. Elliot and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Vernon K. Thompson, and siblings: Elmire E. Roux, Elmore W. Escobedo, Louis F. Escobedo, Consuella Escobedo, and Welcolm E. Vincens. Delight was a homemaker and long-time resident of Metairie who worked for the War Shipping Administration in 1943.
Family and friends are invited to attend services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr. in Metairie on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, followed by Mass at 1:00 pm.
