Delbert D. Deakle Sr.

Delbert D. Deakle, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home with family on Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was born in New Orleans, LA to the late William Deakle and Katherine Cummings Deakle. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elda Schultz Deakle; son, Roger Deakle, and his siblings: Freddie Deakle, Katherine Deakle Wyatt, Parmler Deakle Jordan, and Melvin Deakle. Delbert is survived by his children and their spouses: Delbert Deakle, Jr. (Anna Ferraro), Tammy Deakle (Harry Buford), and Jacquelynn Deakle; his sister, Marilyn Deakle Mavor; his grandson, Damian Deakle; as well as numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Delbert served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until 1961. He retired from LP&L/NOSPI/Entergy where he worked for many years as a lineman and was an avid fisherman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Tharp Sontheimer Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001 on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a service starting at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Garden of Memories Funeral Home.
