David Leander Walgamotte Sr

David Leander Walgamotte Sr. passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. Walgamotte Sr. and Betty Terry Walgamotte; his stepmother, Anita Walgamotte; and his siblings: Edward Walgamotte, Peggy Dusenberry, Randy Walgamotte and Steve Walgamotte. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sheryl Adams Walgamotte; his children: David L. Walgamotte Jr., Anthony Walgamotte (Beth), Ellen Parfait (John) and Ashley Pearson (Derek); his grandchildren: Brandon Carr, Lance Walgamotte, Kailyn Parfait, Michael Ellis, Zachary Parfait, Jonathan Parfait, Aiden Walgamotte, Eve Mitchell, Alyssa Parfait and Lorelei Mitchell; and his siblings, Jimmy Walgamotte and Marie Walgamotte. He loved dumpster diving for treasures, painting, LSU, harassing ‘Bama fans, being a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and our Lord Jesus. He gleefully created Santa On A Half Shell as “Artist Dave, Talent By God”. David was a member of the Elks Lodge and the owner of “I Can See Clearly”. Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with interment to take place at a later date in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Due to the COVID 19 crisis and the requirement for social distancing the Mass will be livestreamed. In lieu of flowers donations to www.strokeawareness.org are preferred.
