Cynthia Louise Richard

Cynthia “Cindy” Reck Richard, just shy of 71, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at her home in Gretna, Louisiana of natural causes. Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Allen Richard; their 3 children, Allen Jr., Angelle and Louis; and her 7 grandchildren: Jonathan Richard, Emily and Abigail Rosata, Lane and Riley Richard, Hailee Richard and Hayleigh Broderson. She is also survived by her sister, Elva “Susie” Saltaformaggio and brother-in-law, Dominic Saltaformaggio.
Cindy was born on April 12, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Louis Reck and Elva Bayard Reck, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1965. After high school she attended the University of New Orleans where she received an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies. She was an active member of The Center of Jesus the Lord Catholic Church for many years.
Cindy was full of life and will always be remembered for her love of family and her faith. She was a blessing to us all and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Center of Jesus the Lord at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 1235 Louisiana Ave., New Orleans, LA 70115 on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Visitation will be at the church on the evening of Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday morning from 9:00 am until Mass time at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made directly to Center of Jesus the Lord, 1307 Louisiana Ave., New Orleans, LA 70115.
