Cherlyn Theisen Matthew, 73, departed this life on November 4, 2017. For 52 years she was the beloved wife of Arthur A. Matthew, Jr. of Metairie, LA. She was the loving mother to her son Wayne A. Matthew (Beverly). Cherlyn was also the proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Ashley Matthew, Jake Matthew, Hannah Matthew and Jordan Ritter, she was their precious “Maw-Maw”. She is survived by her brothers Timothy Theisen (Beverly) and Lynn Dominique II, brother-in-law William Matthew (Carolyn), sister-in-law Betty Booth (Charles, deceased). She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Theisen and Zelma Pichon Theisen and Stepfather Lynn Dominique. She was born in New Orleans in May 1944 and lived in Metairie for 73 years. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church. She retired as a Legal Secretary. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:00 am and the visitation will begin at 9:00am until service time.
