Charles Alfred Gray

Charles Alfred Gray passed away on June 12, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Parker and Ruth Armistead Gray and his siblings: John Gray, Patricia Blanco and Calvin Gray. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Dorothy Harmon Gray; his children: Melissa Tucker (Thomas), Michele Gray, Melanie Grimes (John) and Melinda Stretzinger (Kevin); his grandchildren: Thomas Tucker II, Taylor Fedele, Courtney and Jake Grimes and Kevin, Bailey, Madelyn and Mackenzie Stretzinger; his siblings: Barbara Turnage, Betty Vicknair and Edwin Gray, as well as several nieces and nephews. Charles was employed as a longshoreman and was a member of ILA Local 3000. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing; he was a proud member of the Jefferson Rod and Gun Club. Charles enjoyed Nascar and birdwatching. He was also a member of the Elk’s Lodge #30. Visitation will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, Louisiana 70001 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. followed immediately thereafter by interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
