Beverly Sansoni Stallworth Zeller

Beverly Sansoni Stallworth Zeller passed away peacefully Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the age of 78.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years Louis J. Zeller, Jr; and her parents, Joseph Sansoni and Evelyn Sansoni.

Beverly is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Stallworth and Elizabeth Stallworth Constant (Gerard, Jr.); the father of her children, William C. Stallworth; grandchild, William Constant; brother, Daniel R. Sansoni (Beth); and niece, Jovan Sansoni.

Beverly graduated from Ursuline Academy Class of 1960 and received a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. She worked for most of 40 years at LSU School of Medicine doing medical research in Oncology, Immunology and Tissue Culture. The high point of her career was attending the second International Symposium of Lymphokines in Dallas, Texas in August of 1981 and when she joint-hosted the International Workshop on Cardiac Growth and Regeneration in Viterbo, Italy in June of 1994. She was instrumental in the development of a cardiac cell line which beats in culture. Beverly was very dedicated to the homeless of New Orleans. She worked in a food truck delivering hot meals for years and also donated and assembled backpack meals for New Orleans School children. She enjoyed Cajun dancing, sailing and gardening. Beverly and her husband John attended Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans, St Martin’s Episcopal Church in Metairie and finally with her daughters at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Metairie, LA.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Please note that due to the current State restrictions visitation is limited to a total of 250 people and a mask must be worn.
