Betty McGovern Pezold

Betty McGovern-Pezold passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the age of 87. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Frank L. Pezold, Jr.; her granddaughter, Betty Ann Stephens; great-grandson, Frail Delano (Joanna); great-granddaughter, Shanika Miorana; her nephew, Danny Schmitt (Sandra); and nieces, Diane Schmitt Crespino (John Ray) and Donna Schmitt Jones (Danny). She is also survived by her step son, Frank L. Pezold, III (Jenny); stepdaughters, Laura Pezold-Gallagher (William), Cathy Pezold-Edwards (Terry), and Sharon Pezold Fitch (Fred); and an abundant amount of step grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Leona McGovern; her daughter, Eileen Miorana; her sisters, Myrtle McGovern, Evelyn Gallay, and Wilhelmina Schmitt; and her stepson, David Pezold.
A celebration of her life will be on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a Catholic Service at 1:00 pm at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA 70001. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
