Bernard David Mayeux Jr.

Bernard David “Fats” Mayeux Jr passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2023 at the age of 71. David was known for his wild & crazy personality, he was always the life of the party & was the favorite “Uncle David”. He enjoyed camping, cruising, family vacations, fishing, family dinners & playing cards all with a cold Bud Light in his hand.
David is preceded in death by his father Bernard Mayeux Sr, his mother Enola Oubre Mayeux & his father-in-law Thomas Marcel.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years Melissa Marcel Mayeux, his children Carolyn Mayeux, Bernard Mayeux III & Ana Mayeux as well as his grandchildren Elliott Neagle & Ben, Cason & Kamryn Mayeux. He is also survived by his siblings Sylvia Bravender, Mickel (Rose), Kathy Aucoin, Wayne (Janet) & Agnes Descant (John). He will also be missed by his mother-in-law Jean Marcel & sister-in-law Sherry (Jason). He also leaves behind multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews as well as many other family & friends.
A celebration of life for David will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 11:00am-3:00pm at Uncle Matt’s Bar at 2303 Hickory Ave, Harahan, LA 70123.
