Barbara "Bobbie" Mattingly

On Monday morning July 5, 2021, Barbara “Bobbie” Mattingly passed away to be with her LORD & SAVIOR. Born on September 16, 1937 and being 83 years young, Bobbie was a resident of Metairie, La. Being predeceased by her parents, Lee F. Boutte & Rosemary L. Boutte. She has two siblings, Brooks Caswell and Lee Boutte. Formerly married to Robert E. Coleman, III and the late Daniel Mattingly. From her marriage to Robert Coleman, they had two sons Robert E. Coleman, IV “Rocky” and Craig M. Coleman whom she loved always, and two grandchildren from her son Robert E. Coleman, IV: Rachel & Jonathan Coleman. Bobbie cherished and loved the Daughter she never had, Susan Holden. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and had many successful accomplishments in her career. Along with her Real Estate License, Bobbie had a concept idea to start and form an Apartment Locating Service to benefit both landlords and renters which was extremely successful. To her 3rd son as I was referred to, Joseph Stamm, I will truly miss our long talks and many discussions about life, love, politics, and always knowing what exactly she wanted to eat at each meal, along numerous other stories and topics. We additionally had many laughs about current news subjects. Truly Bobbie was a remarkable lady with a heart of love and fantastic understanding. One of Bobbie’s fun past times was playing cards weekly with the card group, watching the shopping channels to get those Special Deals, talking on the phone to her friends, looking forward to having the best calls from Rocky & Craig, but ONE pleasure most of all was going to the Treasure Chest and meeting her best friends, Julie & Ann, at The Boat as it was referred to. A special thank you to Tracye Casteel & Naomi Casteel for their wonderful care with assistance for Bobbie and the ICU staff & Heart of Hospice staff at East Jefferson General Hospital. Bobbie is now with our maker and redeemer and with the angels she always spoke of, and reunited with past family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Christian Funeral Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm with a visitation prior from 9:30 am until service time. Interment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
