Antoinette Gallodoro Giangrosso

Antoinette Gallodoro Giangrosso passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the age of 91. She was born in New Orleans, LA on January 2, 1927 and was the last living Sicilian descendent of the late Joseph Gallodoro and Annie Pisciotta Gallodoro. Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband Kelly Giangrosso, Sr.; her daughters, Deborah Giangrosso Sanders and Marcia Giangrosso Parker; her son-in-law, Frank Sanders; her daughter-in-law Peggy Giangrosso and her eight brothers and sisters: Fortunato, Ellis, Frances, Josephine, Tufonio, Frank, Leon and Virgina. She is survived by her sons, Kelly Giangrosso, Jr. and Phillip Giangrosso; her daughter, Anna Giangrosso and her former daughter-in-law, Patricia Kleinschrodt; her grandchildren: Kelly Giangrosso, Brandy Giangrosso Dornan (Walter), Annie Giangrosso, Gina Giangrosso Cahill and Angela Sanders Barrios (Christopher); her great-grandchildren: Brennan, Glenn, Phillip, Brie, Brooklyn, Giuliana, Charlotte, and Ethan; her brother-in-law, Huey Armand; her sister-in-law, Joycelyn Gallodoro as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Antoinette was a homemaker and a retired independent grocer with her beloved husband at Kelly’s Grocery Store uptown. She was admired for her compassion, kindness, generosity, loyalty, love, affection, and wisdom. She was totally devoted to her family and will be greatly missed by all.
Friends and family are invited to attend services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie on Friday, November 16, 2018. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am – 11:00 am with a Mass to follow. Interment will be in St. Roch no. 2 Cemetery in New Orleans.
