Anna Rose Drago Wich

Anna was born on October 8, 1920 to Vincent Drago and Esther Chetta Drago. She passed away peacefully on May 5, 2018 at the age of 97. She is survived by her children, Teresa W. Eagerton, Christina W. Bode (Skip Greco), Stephen P. Wich and Diana Ray Wich. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren: Lisa E. Hall (John), Chuck Eagerton (Melissa), Joseph LaBruzza, Jr., Rebecca LaBruzza (Jamie Wallis), Brian LaBruzza (Kimberly S.), Stephanie W. Rowley (Lance), Michael Wich (Michelle), and Rachael Wich. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and 6 great, great-grandchildren and also by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gasper Abene, Rose D. Schmitz, and Marguerite D. Taylor.
She graduated with high honors from the Academy of The Holy Angels in 1938. She was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie since 1951. She began painting in her 40’s and produced some of her most outstanding paintings later in life. She was well known for her beautiful artwork.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at St. Francis Villa for their loving care - especially Rebecca, Elba, and Patricia along with the Guardian Angels Hospice nurse, Donna. Honoring Anna as pallbearers will be Joseph LaBruzza Jr., Chuck Eagerton, Brian LaBruzza, Michael Wich, Jordin LaBruzza, Bill Schmitz and Mark Taylor.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Courtyard Mausoleum located in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
A reception will be held following the interment in the funeral home.
