Angelo Noel Tamporello

Angelo Noel Tamporello passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. He was 74 years old, born on November 8, 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Tamporello was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Tamporello and Juliette Dufresne Tamporello; his wife, Joy Elaine Jarrell Tamporello; his brothers, Anthony F. Tamporello and Placid Joseph "PJ" Tamporello (Vauda); and his sisters, Tanny Tamporello and Linda Tamporello Baldwin.
Mr. Tamporello is survived by his life companion of 30 years, Mary Hymel; his children, Tara Noel Tamporello and Marc Joseph Tamporello (Leslie); his grandchildren, Brea and Blair Tamporello; his brothers-in-law: James Jarrell (Diane), Bobby Jarrell (Michele), and Terry Jarrell (Kathye); sister-in-law, Lucille Tamporello; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Tamporello completed high school and attended Delgado Community College. He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 through 1966 at the rank of E-4 third class. During his tour of duty, he traveled to numerous ports around the world, including Hong Kong and Vietnam. After completing his service to this nation, he began his employment at New Orleans Public Service Incorporated (NOPSI) where he remained employed as a mechanic for 13 years until the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) took over responsibility for the buses and street cars. Mr. Tamporello then became employed by the RTA as a mechanic and remained with them for an additional 20 years.
He loved dancing and working on cars. Angelo was also known for being avaliable to help any friend in need. There was always a car or house repair that a neighbor or friend needed and Angelo would always be there. He was always one to go to Mass and pray for those who were in need or sick and enjoyed visiting his friends. His generous heart will always be remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Monday, February 11, 2019. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with a service starting at 11:00 am followed by interment.
