Abilene Gindratt Addison went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2018. Abbie was born on May 13, 1920 in Zwolle, Louisiana. In 1947, she married Aubrey L. Addison, her husband of 57 years. Abbie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, remembered by her family for her strength, kindness and quick wit. Abbie grew up in Many, Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana Normal School (Northwestern). She lived for many years in Luling, Louisiana, teaching at Hahnville High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Luling.
Left to honor her memory are her two daughters, Pam Robertson (Michael) of River Ridge, Louisiana and Gwen Martin (Terry) of Pleasant Valley, New York; four grandsons, Jeremy Martin (Addie), Michael W. Robertson (Sarah), Matthew Martin (Elena) and Jeffrey Robertson (Michelle) and one great grandson, Michael Clark Robertson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruth Gindratt; her husband Aubrey; her sister Irene Patrick and her son-in-law, Michael Robertson.
For a significant number of years, Abbie and her family have been blessed with the loving care and friendship of Artemise Jones, to whom we wish to express our love and thanks.
Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, March 13, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 921 Paul Maillard Rd. in Luling, LA from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday morning, March 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.
