Aaron Simon

January 5, 1974 ~ May 11, 2019 (age 45) 45 Years Old

Tribute

After a 2-year battle with cancer, and surrounded by his family and friends, Aaron John Simon, 45, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
Aaron was born January 5, 1974 in New Orleans, LA to Ronald Simon and the late Fay (Joseph) Simon. The middle child of three, Aaron loved his older brother Alva “AJ” deAlminana and younger sister Melissa. He graduated from Riverdale High School in 1993then proudly served his country for 6 years in the United States Army. He had tours of duty in Texas, Germany, Bosnia and Kentucky. After discharging from the Army, he worked for Checkpoint Systems until transitioning to his current employment as a field service technician with Beckman Coulter.
Aaron met his wife, Paula (Beckmann) Simon while in Germany. They were married in Fort Campbell, KY on June 22, 1998. They chose to make their permanent home in Harahan, LA and were blessed to be the parents of 4 amazing children: Tyler John (16), Dylan Ray (16), Kylie Lynn (16) and Aiden Cole (8).
Aaron enjoyed riding motocross and being outdoors. He had a magnetism that made you feel like you had known him for years when you met him. He was a natural-born jokester always making those around him smile and laugh. He was passionate about those he loved and would do whatever he could to care for them. For those that have known Aaron, they will forever have lasting memories of his vibrant and cheerful presence.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Ochsner Medical Center and MD Anderson who helped Aaron in his battle. Our gratitude also extends to Passages Hospice, especially Anthony and Starr, for the compassion and comfort they provided in his final weeks.
