William Wood Ryan entered into eternal rest on November 1, 2017, at the age of 90. William was born on November 21, 1926 in Metairie, LA to the late Joseph and Emma Ryan. He is survived by his four nephews Ricky Ryan, Brad Ryan, Terry Ryan and Bruce Ryan Applegargth. He is proceeded in death by his sister June L Applegargth, his brother Joseph Ryan and his nephews Jody Ryan, Raymond Thurston Applegargth. William enjoyed his service as an Usher at Munholland Methodist Church on Metairie Rd. for over 20 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Navy diver and was also involved in the D-Day Invasion of Normandy, France. William was also a wood furniture craftsman and retired from Sears after 15 years of employment. The Ryan family will like to extend their heart felt gratitude to Janine Crow and Sissy Wood along with all of his friends at the Munholland (U.N.C.) and staff to the V.A. Southeastern Louisiana war of Veterans Home, in Reserve, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
