Randall Leslie Bennett Sr.

Randall Leslie Bennett, Sr., 64, passed peacefully from this earth on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Born in New Orleans, LA to Joycelyn Morgan Bennett and Ernest Louis Bennett, Randy (as he was affectionately called) graduated from Alfred T. Bonnabel High School in Metairie. Randy went on to graduate from Delgado Community College in Radiologic Technology. As an ASRT he became certified in Special Procedures. His career in Radiologic Technology spanned over forty years. Randy’s interests included fishing, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Joy and Ernest Bennett; his nephews, Joseph L. (Joey) Nuzzolillo and Robbie Hartmann; his brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Hartman; his mother-in-law, Anna Louise Hartmann; and his father-in-law, Creston Joseph Hartmann.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Karen Hartmann Bennett; his sons: Randall Leslie Bennett, Jr., Christopher Ernest Bennett (Amanda), Brian Louis Bennett (Angelle),and Ronnie Scelson; his mother, Judith Darragh Bennett; his sisters: Anne Bennett Favret, Stephanie Kaye Bennett, and Laura Bennett Lawlor; his grandchildren: Gabriella Noel Bennett, Claire Althea Bennett, Laila Joy Bennett, Kayla Scelson, Cameron Scelson, and Robert Scelson; his nephew, Daniel Louis Lawlor (Kayla); his nieces: Nikki J. Nuzzolillo Norvell (Michael), Abigail Lillian Lawlor, and Angie Rehn; his grandnieces, Emma Grace Norvell and Sophia Nicole Lawlor; his grandnephews, Gabriel Andrews and Elijah Rehn; and his brother-in-law, Harry Hartmann.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation begins at 10:00 am with a Mass starting at 12:00 noon followed by interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Randy’s name to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
