Judith Kavanaugh (Wilson), 71, returned to God on Sunday November 19th, 2017 peacefully at her home. Born in Atlanta to Thomas Wilson and Ethel Levi, Judith grew up in New Orleans in the Irish Channel, attending St. Michael’s School, graduating in 1960, then Redemptorist High School in 1964. Upon graduation, she entered into studies with the School Sisters of Notre Dame to become a Nun, but decided not to complete her vows and returned to New Orleans in 1968. She would then meet her eventual husband William, whom she would marry in 1970 and move to Jefferson soon after. Through the years she was active in St. Agnes, St, Matthias and St. Edward the Confessor parishes and was an Administrative Assistant with the Jefferson Parish Fire Department until 2009. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, William, sons Sean and his wife Nicole and Bryan and his wife Karen. She is also survived by her sister Sharon Giangrosso (DePoorter) along with 7 nieces and nephews. The family will have a visitation on Saturday, November 25th, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a Memorial Mass in the chapel at 11:00 am at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA.
