On August 22, 2017 Joseph Lawrence Cottone, Sr. was called from this Earth to join his mother and father in Heaven. He was 79 years old. Joe was born and reared in New Orleans and raised his family in Metairie, LA. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. He attended Southeastern University where he was a member of the TKE Fraternity and graduated from the University of New Orleans. Joe went on to enjoy a career in the aerospace industry with Lockheed Martin at both the Michoud and Stennis facilities. Joe will be remembered as a kind and gentle man by friends and family. He will be dearly missed by his wife Carol, son Joey, and daughter Gina as well as his five grand daughters and his grandson who knew him affectionately as Papa Joe. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11:30 am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue, Metairie, LA and the visitation will begin at 10:30 am.
