Tribute

Jacquelyn Genevieve Gaillot Bruno passed away peacefully on March 8, 2021 with her children by her side. She was born to the late Bernard and Ruth Gaillot on February 7, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana as the youngest girl in a family of 12 children. Jackie, as she is known by most, graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy. In 1955, Jackie married Victor John Bruno. Jackie and Vic raised three wonderful children: Fr. Steven Bruno, Craig Bruno (Kelli) and Stacey Bruno Hamilton (Billy). Jackie and Vic enjoyed numerous hobbies including bowling, attending LSU football games, participating in carnival clubs and were very active in the St. Anthony of Padua community. For over 20 years, Jackie worked in the alumni office at Jesuit High School and Cabrini High School. She was a devout Catholic and volunteered for many years at St. Anthony of Padua, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and Our Lady of Divine Mercy Catholic Churches. Jackie and Vic lived in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina, at which time they moved to Kenner. Jackie and Vic cherished their roles as Nana and Papa to Victor Lee Bruno and special grandparents to Peyton Moore and Caroline Moore. Vic passed away exactly 6 years prior to Jackie, on March 8, 2015. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Jackie is survived by her sister, Thais Gaillot Cimo; sister in law, Annie Bruno; and numerous nieces and nephews.
