Elaine LeBlanc Calamia passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Jack Thomas Calamia for 51 years. Devoted mother of Judy Calamia Clay (Eddie), Sandra Calamia Morris (Lyn), Connie Calamia Sinnott (Eddie), Christy Calamia Landry and Craig Joseph Calamia (Trina). Loving grandmother of Scott and Brad Clay (Shawna), Kerry (Chantelle) and Nick Morris, Melissa Moss (Mike), Jeremy Coudrain (Mariana), Lainie Selle (Chris), Jason (Amber) and Ashley Landry, Amber Calamia (Lance) and Payton, Britain and Jackson Nazar. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren who loved her dearly: Scotty, Chloe, Gavin, Thomas, Liam, Bryce, Max, Ian, Mallory, Merrick, Jack, Rachel, Jude, Caroline, Sophie, Luc, Carmela, Olivia, Anthony, Dominic, and Jionni. In addition, she leaves behind
numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas G. LeBlanc and Amy Schexnydre; two brothers, William LeBlanc and Robert LeBlanc and three sisters, Shirley Blady, Camille LeBlanc and Theresa LeBlanc. Elaine was born in New Orleans and was a longtime resident of Metairie. During World War II, she was a chauffeur for military personnel and worked at the Office of Censorship and had memorable times at the USO. She was a seamstress with Dressmaking by Elaine and Custom Drapes by Calamia.  She was a frequent visitor at Treasure Chest Casino and also enjoyed being a member of the 13 Card Club at Mary Doiron’s. 
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to their mother’s caregivers and friends, Claire Hirshey, Melinda Ferrell and her “Angels on the Road”, Michelle Dunn and Steve Forman.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm.  Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
