Alba Ninette Sosa Portillo Hill went home to Heaven Sunday, August 30, 2020, after suffering with Alzheimer’s for over 10 years. Born on April 18, 1933, in Panaluya, Rio Hondo, Zacapa, Guatemala, C. A., Alba moved to and lived in Louisiana over 60 years, as a nationalized citizen of the United States. She was the beloved daughter of Jose’ Antonio Sosa Vargas and Maria Del Rosario Portillo Sosa, and sister to the late Oscar Alfredo Sosa Portillo, Jose’ Angel Sosa Portillo and Bernardo Sosa Portillo, leaving behind her youngest brother, Lucas Sosa Portillo. Alba also leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Hector Antonio Hill; daughter, Patricia Annabella Hill and son, Rolando Antonio Hill. She also leaves behind her enormously adored grandchildren; Ellis Francis Wells, III, Olivia Nicole Wells and Sofia Alejandra Hill.
Alba was a servant of God to all who entered her home and life. She gave and gave without ever wanting, asking or expecting anything in return. She was a selfless, loving person to all; the best mama anyone could ask for and the epitome of unconditional love. Alba’s smile was blessed with a glow only Jesus could provide. She leaves us with her joy filled smile and tender memories to embrace. Just as she planted and nurtured her precious flower gardens into blooming paradises, she planted and nurtured our hearts.
The family would like to express their love and appreciation to the staff at Peristyle Richland for taking care of our mama the last few years and letting us be at her side, day and night, the last two weeks. Per wishes, there will be no viewing and funeral services will be private. To offer condolences please visit www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
